Unimarkt is a retail company founded in 1975 and forms part of Unimarkt Group, headquartered in Traun. Both independent merchants and wholly owned subsidiaries are organised under the Unimarkt name. Currently, there are more than 50 franchise partners and 80 independent branches in Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Carinthia and Burgenland.

Unimarkt has a strong regional focus and collaborates with hundreds of bakers, meat and sausage producers, and small agricultural holdings in the Austrian federal states.

Since November 2014, Unimarkt has supplemented its brick and mortar stores with an online shop that dispatches food to customers throughout Austria.
